CCTV Video Cameras
CCTV video cameras are Close Circuit TV systems used for surveillance cameras. Unlike the type of camera used for broadcasting, these are not used in the general airwaves, but for surveillance usually in a place of business. There are many applications for this type of video camera.
CCTV cameras are available in either color or black and white images. There are advantages to both types. There is more information in color images, which is particularly important if the images are needed later for evidence. Color of clothing, car, hair, and other details are better seen in color images. Black and white has better resolution and can work in a greater range of lighting situations such as low light.
We carry both wireless CCTV video cameras and models that require a wire to record the images. Cameras that use a wire need to a cable to connect to a television screen; this is not needed with wireless cameras. One important factor to consider when selecting cameras is that wired cameras work at a greater distance, and wireless needs to be closer to the recording device.
CCTV video cameras need a display or recording device and receivers for wireless cameras. This could be a television or monitor. The images can be recorded on a DVR device. Depending on the type of camera, they can stand alone, work with a PC or transmit the image from the camera into a DVR.
