| Choosing wireless spy cameras
Previously
only available to law enforcement, government agencies, and
other high-budget organizations, advances in technology have
made wireless spy cameras available to the masses. These cameras
can be used to conduct covert surveillance, to keep an eye
on employees, or to keep you informed by spying on the babysitter.
There are a number of factors to consider
when choosing wireless spy cameras. One of the most important
is whether to choose a color or black and white model. Color
cameras provide more information, such as the color of a car
or a person's clothing, while black and white cameras provide
better resolution and require less available light. Resolution
is typically specified in lines - this is the number of horizontal
lines that the camera uses to "paint" the image.
The higher the number of lines, the more detail that is provided
in the image. Typical resolutions for wireless spy cameras
are 380 lines for color and 400 lines for black and white.
The LUX value for wireless spy cameras is
used to specify the amount of available light that the camera
needs in order to "see", or record an image. Typical
values are 1 LUX for color cameras and .05 LUX for black and
white models. By way of comparison, 1 LUX is about the amount
of light available late in the evening hours, around dusk.
.1 LUX is about the amount of light available in a lighted
parking lot at night. A camera with a LUX value of .05 could
actually see better than the unaided human eye at night.
Consider choosing one of our available models
with X-Vision, a technology that allows images to be recorded
in near total darkness - down to a value of .003 LUX. This
technology is only available on black and white cameras, and
provides the highest quality images in low-light conditions.
Another factor to consider when choosing
wireless spy cameras is the frequency of operation. All of
our wireless cameras operate in the 2.4GHz range for superior
image quality and transmission distance. Also, please note
that all of our wireless spy cameras include a FREE receiver,
a necessary accessory that others don't provide. Look for
an included rechargeable battery pack as well, for maximum
portability and better concealment. The battery pack should
provide for at least 12 hours of operation between charges.
Miniaturization and other advances in technology
have allowed for wireless spy cameras to be hidden in, or
disguised as, a wide variety of objects. Often the intended
type of surveillance will determine the type of object required,
so a large selection of objects is important. We have one
of the largest selections available anywhere, with over 35
different models. We have wireless spy cameras hidden in alarm
clocks, CD players, desktop speakers, pencil sharpeners and
tissue boxes. We even have cameras disguised as caps and neckties.
So no matter what your intended use, we have a wireless spy
camera that fits the bill.
We are proud of our reputation and experience
in the security industry. Given the number of technical factors
involved in choosing wireless spy cameras, you can greatly
benefit from our experience in helping you choose the camera
that exactly fits your needs.
